Attempted theft of a luxury watch in Crans-Montana
A fortnight ago, a man tried to steal a luxury watch from a jeweller’s shop in the Haut-Plateau resort. Thanks to the responsiveness of the staff and collaboration between the various intervention forces, the luxury watch thief was apprehended by agents of the Federal Office of Customs and Border Security (FOCB) as he attempted to leave the country with the stolen watch.

A man went into a jewellery store in Crans-Montana, Switzerland, with the intention of buying a luxury watch. After examining several watch models, he took advantage of the sales assistant’s brief absence to steal a watch and leave the premises.

The watch, worth tens of thousands of francs, was recovered. The suspect, a 47-year-old Canadian, will be reported to the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
